Zambia’s Attorney General Mulilo and MP Clement Andeleki are in Malawi to discuss the death penalty, which was abolished in Zambia last year, reports The Malawi Times.
Reprieve is among the organisations assisting in Malawi’s push for the abolition of capital punishment.
“The death penalty should, and will, be abolished in Malawi,” said Reprieve fellow Alexious Kamangila. “For Africa, in 10 years, all countries will abolish the death penalty and Africa will be the second continent to abolish the death penalty.”
