Blaire Andres
Blaire advises on Reprieve’s US death penalty casework and its innovative Stop Lethal Injection Project, where she and the team engage in a combination of strategic litigation, investigation, private sector work, and public education initiatives. Her work seeks to prevent the misuse of medicines in lethal injection executions and dismantle the myth of “humane” execution methods. Blaire has conducted high-impact advocacy on US death penalty issues, supported innovative litigation in state and federal courts, and provided expert guidance to the European Commission and United Nations.
Blaire also supports the Lethal Injection Information Center, offering pro bono expertise to over 70 pharmaceutical companies, along with healthcare stakeholders and investors, helping them prevent their life-saving drugs from misuse in executions.
Blaire is a phi beta kappa graduate from Reed College and earned a juris doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2015.
