Anna Brennan
Anna is Reprieve’s Legal Officer. Anna works on Reprieve’s strategic litigation efforts which seek to hold the British Government to account for complicity in the death penalty, torture, secret detention and extrajudicial killings abroad. Anna qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate (England and Wales) in 2019, and is also a Solicitor (Ireland).
Anna has experience of representing clients in human rights litigation at all levels of the UK courts system and internationally, and is particularly interested in the intersection between migration, national security measures and fundamental rights abuses. Before joining Reprieve, Anna worked in the international arbitration department of a large law firm in London and Dubai. In 2021-22, Anna was a judicial assistant to two Justices of the UK Supreme Court. Anna has an LL.B in Law and French (Trinity College Dublin) and an LL.M in International Human Rights Law (Georgetown University Law Center). Anna speaks French and Irish.
