Lead singer of Del Amitri Justin Currie has announced that he will soon stop performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, reports the Daily Record.
When asked by fans on his Facebook club page which charity he would like them to donate to he replied that donations should go to Reprieve, The National reports here and here.
“I have been a big fan of Reprieve’s tireless legal work in Guantanamo and representing people under sentence of death, the most iniquitous punishment meted out by human organisations,” he said.
“I regard institutional violence as the basest of all human activity and any court handing down such punishment as morally redundant.”
