The BBC has reported on Gurpreet Singh Johal’s letter to David Cameron pressing him to call for his brother’s release and bring Jagtar home to his family.
“It is extremely distressing to build up to meeting face to face with the foreign secretary, only for them to move on to a new job a few months later,” Gurpreet wrote.
Lord Cameron is the sixth foreign secretary to hold the post since his brother’s arrest in 2017.
He added that the family is hopeful the new foreign secretary will leverage “Britain’s longstanding relationship with India” to call for Jagtar’s release.
