Martina provides strategic support to the Secret Prisons Team, with a focus on Reprieve’s “Life after Guantanamo” project (LAG).

She studied Arabic and Persian in the Middle East and France. She holds MA degrees in Political Sciences and International Development from the University of Vienna.

Prior to her work on the LAG project for Reprieve, Martina managed the largest refugee shelter in Vienna during the 2015/16 refugee crisis. She spent a decade in the Middle East: first as a student and freelance journalist during the Arab Spring, then as an ICRC delegate. She is fluent in Arabic, English, German, Spanish, French and speaks some Farsi.
