We work to end the use of the death penalty, worldwide. There are still 56 countries that use the death penalty. Eligible ‘crimes’ can include homosexuality, adultery and blasphemy. We investigate the background of a case. We work with local lawyers to defend people facing the death penalty. And our campaigners shine a light on the issue. Our approach is strategic. We focus on the cases that are most likely to bring about wider change.
