Pakistan already had the world\u2019s largest death row at around 8,000 people \u2013 now it is also one of the world\u2019s most prolific executioners.<\/p>\n
Pakistan has gone from a non-executing state to executing over 400 people since the end of\u00a0a 6-year death penalty moratorium in 2014. Those killed include juveniles, prisoners who were tortured into \u2018confessions\u2019, and others who have subsequently been found to have been innocent.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Government seems indifferent to the plight of the many prisoners who should not even be on death row \u2013 those arrested as children, or suffering from severe physical or mental illnesses.<\/p>\n

Despite clear evidence of his innocence, and in violation of international and Pakistani law, Aftab was executed on Wednesday 10th June 2015 in the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n At the age of 15, Aftab was sentenced to death by hanging even though he was a child.
