Despite widespread criticism of nitrogen <\/a>hypoxia<\/a> executions<\/a>, Alabama’s attorney general has defended the method, reports The New <\/a>York<\/a> Times.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Witnesses said Kenneth Smith “shook and writhed” for two minutes as he was executed<\/a>, even though state lawyers said he would lose consciousness in a matter of seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
