\u201cThere\u2019s so much focus on the injustice on the men in Guant\u00e1namo, but what\u2019s often forgotten is the fact that this has had such dire consequences for waves of family members around them,\u201d said Katie Taylor, deputy director of Reprieve, an advocacy group that represents six men who remain at Guant\u00e1namo and that has worked to support more than 70 former detainees who were resettled in 28 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust imagine what life would be for your family without your father. Just imagine what it would be like if your father was at Guant\u00e1namo,\u201d Jawad said. \u201cHow could they ruin 20 years of someone\u2019s life?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
