Among them were the prominent activist Sheikh Nimr, Ali al-Ribh, Mohammad Shioukh and Mohammad Suweimal. They were all arrested in 2012 following their involvement in anti-Government protests.<\/p>\n<p>Ali, who just 18 at the time, was in school when he was arrested by police officers for attending protests. He was tortured, including being burnt with cigarettes and beaten, then sentenced to beheading in the in the country\u2019s secretive Specialized Criminal Court (SCC). The charges against him included helping to organise demonstrations with a mobile phone and attending an address given by Sheikh Nimr.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed, who was 19 when he was arrested, was convicted in the same court on charges including chanting against the Saudi government and painting anti-establishment graffiti on walls. A \u2018confession\u2019 he signed after being beaten with electric cables and batons was used to secure his death sentence.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reprieve.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/2015_10_30_PUB-Ali-al-Nimr.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-6345\" src=\"http:\/\/www.reprieve.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/2015_10_30_PUB-Ali-al-Nimr-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"2015_10_30_PUB Ali al-Nimr\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Next in line for the swordsman\u2019s blade<\/h2>\n<p>Following Saturday\u2019s mass execution, three juveniles are still awaiting execution \u2013 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reprieve.org.uk\/case-study\/ali-al-nimr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ali al Nimr<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reprieve.org.uk\/case-study\/dawood-al-marhoon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dawoud al Marhoon<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reprieve.org.uk\/case-study\/abdullah-hasan-al-zaher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abdullah al Zaher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPlease help me save my son from the imminent threat of death.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Hassan al-Zaher\u2019s appeal to the international community<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>All three, who are held in solitary confinement, were tortured into signing statements that were used to convict and sentence them to death in the SCC. Speaking last month, Abdullah al-Zaher\u2019s father, Hassan al-Zaher, said that the court process had been so secretive that the family had been unable to follow the progress of their son\u2019s trial.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWith the executions of young protestors who were tortured and convicted in secret trials, the Saudi authorities have demonstrated utter contempt for the rule of law, basic human rights and their international obligations.
