Using these extreme powers, the Home Secretary can deprive a British citizen of their legal rights simply by saying it is &#8216;conducive to the public good&#8217; to do so.<br><br>The use of this power is an affront to the principle of equality before the law. It makes some people\u2019s citizenship worth less than that of others. It is also fundamentally racist, as it discriminates based on heritage.
