Reprieve and its founder Clive Stafford Smith are today announcing that Clive will be leaving the organisation to pursue his own projects and independent activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clive has provided services to Reprieve as a consultant since 2019, having stepped back from his formal role in the organisation in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reprieve has been led for the last five years by Anna Yearley, who joined the organisation as Executive Director in 2016. Maya Foa has been with Reprieve for over 10 years and has acted as a Director since 2014. Both will remain in position and continue to provide Reprieve with clear direction and strong leadership on behalf of all our stakeholders and, most importantly, our clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clive continues to represent men in Guantanamo Bay. Where Reprieve\u2019s work and cases overlap or intersect with Clive\u2019s work, Reprieve and Clive will coordinate together to achieve the maximum benefits for the clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clive Stafford Smith said<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHaving founded Reprieve more than 20 years ago, I am now looking forward to pursuing my own projects and independent activities. In doing so I am delighted to be leaving the organisation in the hands of a committed and highly effective leadership team. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together over the years. Through our efforts, we have brought hope, justice and salvation to many lives around the world. That is what has made Reprieve the unique and thriving organisation it is today\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
