On October 15, 2017, 25 guards rushed into Saifullah Paracha<\/a>‘s cell, one holding\u00a0a video camera, and forced him on to his stomach before strapping\u00a0him to a stretcher. He was handcuffed,\u00a0hoisted out of the lock-up and taken to a cell in solitary confinement.<\/p>\n

At 70, Paracha\u00a0is\u00a0Guantanamo Bay\u2019s oldest prisoner. A former\u00a0businessman from Pakistan, he is accused by the U.S. authorities of helping Al-Qaeda and has been detained at the U.S.-run camp in southeast Cuba for 13 years.<\/p>\n

After his \u201cforce\u00a0cell extraction\u201d by guards,\u00a0Paracha said\u00a0he languished alone in a cell for three days. It was the first time he had received this kind of treatment in over a decade.<\/p>\n
