The Foreign Secretary is hosting the first ever visit to London by the Ethiopian Prime Minister this week, while British father Andy Tsege<\/a> remains illegally detained on the country\u2019s death row following his kidnap from an international airport in 2014.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ethiopian PM Hailemariam Desalegn presided over the illegal kidnap and rendition of Andy to Ethiopia in 2014. This Thursday (11th May), he travels to London to attend the London Somalia Conference. There he will meet Boris Johnson, who has repeatedly refused to negotiate Andy\u2019s return, despite requests from his family, members of the public and politicians from across the political spectrum.<\/p>\n

Boris Johnson was Mayor of London in 2009, when Andy was living in the city and was sentenced to death in absentia for speaking out against the authoritarian Ethiopian government. He was Mayor in 2014 when Andy was kidnapped from an airport and taken to Ethiopia, forcing his children to spend nearly three years without their dad. He is Foreign Secretary now, and he has the opportunity to help bring Andy home.<\/p>\n

Boris Johnson is rolling out the red carpet for a man who has overseen the scandalous kidnap and rendition of a British dad,<\/strong>\u00a0who now languishes on death row. Andy and his family have been through a horrifying ordeal at the hands of Hailemariam Desalegn\u2019s government. Boris Johnson must use this rare chance to seek Andy\u2019s urgent return home, before it\u2019s too late.<\/p>\n

Andy Tsege has been on death row in Ethiopia for over 1000 days now, away from his partner and three children in London. As\u00a0Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn arrives in Andy\u2019s home city. Boris Johnson must use this opportunity to raise Andy\u2019s case and get him home.<\/p>\n
