Zaki joined Reprieve in April 2021. As MENA Caseworker/Investigator, Zaki leads on the investigation, casework and international advocacy of death penalty cases and projects in the MENA region.  

Prior to joining Reprieve, Zaki worked in the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Legal Protection team, in Duncan Lewis Solicitors’ Public Law team as an accredited Senior Caseworker, and also spent time representing asylum seekers in their claims for international protection in Egypt.

He holds an LLB Law degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies and is currently studying an LLM in Transnational Criminal Justice at BPP University London on a part-time basis.

Zaki is a fluent Arabic speaker.
