Katie O’Byrne

Katie is a Deputy Director and employed counsel at Reprieve. Katie oversees Reprieve’s UK litigation, engagement with international human rights mechanisms, and legal publications.
Prior to joining Reprieve, Katie practised as a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, specialising in international human rights law, public law, public inquiries and domestic claims with international elements. She acted in cases at all levels of the UK courts, represented clients before UN bodies and the European Court of Human Rights, and served as counsel to multiple public inquiries. Katie holds a BA / LLB from Monash University and an LLM from the University of Cambridge. She remains an Associate Tenant at Doughty Street.
