British girl stuck in Syrian camp was trafficked at 12 then raped

A British girl who was trafficked to Syria at the age of 12 and then raped and impregnated by an Islamic State fighter is among 50 women and children stranded in refugee camps.

A report from the campaign group Reprieve reveals that two thirds of British women detained in northeast Syria were coerced and trafficked to the region before being sexually exploited.

The group says that many were under 18 when they travelled to Isis territory and have suffered years of exploitation, including forced marriage, rape and domestic servitude.
