Government lawyer tells court MI5 officers could authorise murder

A lawyer acting for the government, Sir James Eadie QC, told the Court of Appeal that under current policies, MI5 could legally authorise one of its undercover agents to commit murder. This was reported in the Guardian, with comment from John Finucane, whose father Pat was killed by a loyalist paramilitary who was also an agent for the UK security services.
